about mobius studio

Scott Parsons lives and works in Boulder County, Colorado. His 1800 sq. ft. design and fabrication studio is located on 7 acres near the Rocky Mountain foothills.

Scott worked construction during high school and for a furniture manufacturer while attending college. Upon obtaining a degree in Robotics and Electronics in 1984 he worked as a trouble shooter and repairman on automatic assembly machinery for a digital storage company.

In 1988 Scott moved to Southern California to work with
internationally recognized architect Kendrick Kellogg building
details and furniture. He quickly earned a reputation as a skilled craftsman with an eye for detail and the patience to do it right.
In 1991 Kellogg recommended Scott to his mentor, architect
John Lautner, one of the early students of Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin west. Scott worked with Lautner on the Shearing residence in Coronado, California which completed just prior to the
architects death.

Scott returned to Colorado in 1992 where he built and opened his own design fabrication studio in its present
location. Since that time the studio has expanded in
capability and can produce works which utilize such
diverse materials as metal, wood, stone, glass, concrete, plastic, and lighting as well as incorporate electronic and mechanical components.

Scott has entered few furniture/art shows, the last in 2003. He won Best of Show in 1995 at the Vail Art Show, and was juried into the Cherry Creek Arts Festival that same year. Before returning to Colorado he won second place in the San Diego Furniture Show in 1990.
